Testimonials

"Sarah and I had talked about me taking one of her classes NUMEROUS times, but I always chickened out. Then Sarah sat and talked to me. Together we figured out what I was really worried about and she helped me overcome most of my fears (not all, still first time jitters! ). I'm glad I trusted her and took the chance, yoga has really helped change my life."

"She's a little chatty at times, but I've learned that during those moments, she really does share some meaningful nuggets. It's part of her charm and authenticity, you get used to it. "

-

"To be blunt, I'm fat, and I like the fact that Sarah doesn't look like the "typical" yoga teacher. I figured if she could do it, so could I."

-

"I was really scared to do yoga. I had it in my head that I would never be able to follow the class or get into any of the poses. Sarah took the time to make sure I felt comfortable and had enough direction to know what my body was supposed to do. "

ABOUT ME

Hello there! My name is Sarah and I have been teaching Yoga and other mindful techniques since 2020, but my relationship with yoga started YEARS before that. I took a class here and there over the years, but it wasn't until I was struggling to heal from the grief of losing a child that the full weight of what Yoga could do was realized in my life. People often think I'm exaggerating when I say, "Yoga saved my life," but I'm not. Yoga saved me and if I can help even one person feel the strength and grace I felt through these practices I will have made a difference.

SatNam Yoga Shala

SatNam literally translates to Sat-Truth and Nam-Name which is interpreted, I am Truth or Truth is my essence. Shala is Sanskrit for house, or home. This is a space where, we might not be a lot of things, but we are honest, with ourselves and each other. This is a space of authenticity, and being yourself, is all you have to be. We are all born worthy, we do not have to prove anything to anyone, we do not have to check any lists or justify our worth. It is inherent.

Frequently asked questions

Absolutely! I will offer movement cues so you know what your body is supposed to do, not just call out poses. Between you and me, I started yoga teacher training knowing the names of less than ten poses!

Yoga truly is more about the journey into a pose, not perfecting poses. I teach in way that offers options, as well as allows for accommodations without students feeling "called out."

Just something comfy and you are all set! There's no need to have any certain style or brand of clothing. Some people prefer snug clothes so they don't get tangled up in them....I haven't ever had issues with loose pants, though having a loose top might ride up if your head goes below your waist. If that happens, just tuck your shirt into your waistband and you are golden.
